Exploring texture, layers and ghost prints in gelli plate printing. with Katie Gander

Sunday 22nd March 2 - 5pm

Gelli plate printing is a unique form of monotype printing that, while appearing simple, offers the opportunity to create complex, multi-layered artworks in a variety of styles. This versatile technique allows you to build up layers and textures, making it possible to produce multiple images quickly and with rich visual depth.

This workshop encourages you to slow down and thoughtfully consider each mark you make on the gelli plate. As you work, you will see how each layer interacts with the previous ones—some marks will fade away while new ones emerge, culminating in a delicate ghost print.

By using scrap materials, you’ll have the chance to experiment with different textures and layers, discovering which effects resonate with your artistic vision and which you prefer to let go.
