Textile Workshop by Gill Dixon

Saturday April 11th 2-5pm

Using 'found' fabrics and items to assemble and stitch together a small piece of creative work that evoked personal memories.

The Scrap Space will provide a source for these items that will trigger your memory. It might be a simple scrap of fabric that reminds you of a long lost but treasured garment or a simple piece or printed text that speaks of a remembered experience. It could be a simple oddment  or a selection of items that recall moments of personal happiness.
Using simple hand stitch techniques, these items will be used to create your own one-off creative piece. These can be taken home to be mounted or framed. No needlework skills are necessary although of course they are always welcomed.

Showcase

This workshop has now ended so do explore this gallery showcasing just some of our pieces made by workshop participants, created using donations found in the scrap store.

Many pieces will be on display at The Lost and Found Museum exhibit, part of the Adur Art Trail 2026 at the Scrap Space, Open Weekends 6th - 21st June
